Se: Under den gångna veckan har Kooperation Utan Gränsers samarbetsorganisationer från Malawi, Zimbabwe och Moçambique besökt Zambias bondeorganisation och bomullsodlarorganisation. Syftet med studieresan var att de besökande organisationerna ska lära sig av den service som de zambiska organisationerna ger till sina medlemmar. Vi har diskuterat, och besökt praktiska exempel på, bland annat hur sms kan användas för att informera bönder om priser på jordbruksprodukter, hur bomullsodlare kan stärka sin förhandlingsförmåga och hur studiecirklar kan användas bland annat för att öka jordbruksproduktionen.

Moç: Durante a semana as organizações parceiras do Centro Cooperativo Sueco em Malawi, Zimbabué e Moçambique visitaram a União de camponeses e a Organização dos produtores de algodão na Zâmbia. O objectivo da viagem era para as organizações visitantes verem e aprenderem dos serviços prestados pelas organizações zambianas aos seus membros. Discutimos, e fomos ver exemplos práticos de, entre outras coisas, como sistemas de sms podem ser usados para melhorar o acesso a informação dos camponeses sobre produtos agrícolas, como produtores de algodão podem fortalecer a sua capacidade de negociação do preço de algodão e como círculos de estudo podem ser usados para aumentar a produção agrícola.

Zim+Zam+Mal: During this week partner organisations of Swedish Cooperative Centre from Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique have been visiting Zambia National Farmers’ Union and Cotton Association of Zambia. The purpose of the visit was for the visiting organisations to see and learn from the services that the Zambian organisations are providing to their members. We discussed, and visited practical examples of, among other things, how SMS can be used to improve the farmers’ access to information on buying prices of agriculture surplus, how the cotton producers can improve their negotiation skills to get a higher price for cotton and how study circles can be used to increase agriculture production.
